All you need to know!

Buying a solar water heater is an ecological act for the planet. By reducing your consumption of electricity, you contribute to the reduction of greenhouse effect gases. You think it is a drop in the ocean?

Maybe, but it is better than nothing!

f.a.q :: Ecology
Which benefit for the environment?
In a household, hot water production represents about 30% of total energy consumption. The possibility to heat –freely- water, thanks to the sun, reduces your energy consumption and contributes to the diminution of greenhouse effect gases. If you replace your electric water heater by a solar water heater, each year, you will reduce greenhouse effect gases emission from 3 to 4 tons. This is the equivalent of small car’s emissions.
f.a.q :: General points
Which Sun Ray model meets my needs?
Several points are important in order to make a good choice: the number of people you live with, your consumption habits, your water quality, and your roof orientation (for panels’ orientation).
Our sales people will help you to choose a solar water heater in line with your way of life.
f.a.q :: Solar water heaters
What happens when the sun is not shining?
Sun Ray integrates an extra heating to its thermal storage water heaters.
How does a solar water heater work?
The principle is very simple. With the Black Master system, sun rays' heat is captured in the collector thanks to the glass panel. Then this heat warms the water which circulates into the copper pipes. Water circulation in the collector is natural thanks to the thermo-siphon principle. If the storage cylinder is installed above the collectors, then water circulation is natural. If it is the contrary, then you have to add a pump to make hot water circulate from collectors to the storage cylinder.
What is CSTB certification?
Our products are certified CSTB. That means they have been checked by an independent laboratory which certifies both efficiency and quality. Our production line’s quality is regularly controlled, from raw materials to final consumer. Efficiency tests are realized in a European laboratory which checks our capacity to meet hot water needs.
Is it possible not to install the storage cylinder on the roof?
Yes, you can install it in your attic or even on your floor, if you add a pump.
